I think many break due to jump rings. Most jump rings are worthless to be honest. I won't use em unless I HAVE to use pliers to open them. I buy separate jump rings that are at least 20 gauge minimum for strength. I have also made my own "S" connectors with 20 gauge wire when need be. Another reason rosaries break could be the links aren't closed completely. Many rosaries are machined today and quality control is sometimes lacking.
Also, a hand crafter needs to constantly check that all links are tightly closed not allowing the beads much freedom. This makes for goodlink locking construction that will last.
That's just a couple reasons why there can be problems with rosaries. Thankfully, this is not a problem with BattleBeads! ;)
Why do rosaries always break?
ReplyDeleteHi and thanks for that good question! :)
