My Personal Prayers

Since getting the Nihil Obstat on the USA Chaplet, I've been asked to share some private prayers with folks. So, here's a few :)

My God and my All ... please forgive the sins and folly of my youth, when chasing after worldly things was my only desire for happiness. I beg You now please restore and repair this foolishly squandered and sinful time, that it not go to waste. Credit it back not to me Lord, but please let it be given in reparation for the souls that need it most on earth and in purgatory. You Who can make even miserable sinners failings into treasures united to the passion of Jesus, I ask not for myself, but for all others to benefit by this restored time with all the graces that would have been received with all the missed Masses, Communions and Confessions as well as any good or charitable works or sacrifices; in Jesus' Name.

Most gracious Abba, grant us please the grace to strengthen each other in this world so full of evil now! All the oppression, illness, murder, licentiousness, war, greed, persecutions and all the rest is nearly too much to bear! We constantly rely on You for our spiritual and temporal needs begging the grace to forgive others always and never tire of hearing Your promises for those who love You. Open our hearts, minds and souls to always listen for Your Voice. We are a broken people Lord, how You have not stomped us out yet for all our transgressions only proves what a loving and merciful Father You truly ARE! I beg You Abba, for myself, all I hold dear and all souls everywhere to let us know You better, love You more and trust and serve You always; ever following the leanings and guidance of Your holy Spirit, in the precious Name of Jesus. Amen.

Lord Your grace IS sufficient! Praise Your holy Name that you gave us the power to unite our sufferings with Your holy Passion for the good of souls everywhere! Redemptive suffering can be a joy when resigned to Your holy Divine Will, strengthened by the Sacraments and permitting YOU and our Blessed Mother into our lives daily! Please make and keep my motives always pure, keep me focused in prayer, hide me in Your Wounds and never permit me to be separated from You! ... Blessed be God forever! ... Jesus, Beloved of my soul!

In thinking about the Lord's Prayer and meditation of it .. this seemed to come easily to me, I'll share it here with you ....
Our Father: The Creator of all things loves us SO MUCH He invites us to call Him Father! He sends His only begotten Son to show us the way to salvation, without Which, we never could have been able to find the way home.
Who art in heaven: Our Father, our Abba (Daddy) is so great, He uses the universe as His pillow and the planets as His Footstool!
Hallowed be Thy Name: This Magnificent Being knows not only who we are, but knows the number of the hairs on our heads and waits with patient love for us to talk to Him, visit Him, share our love, ask our needs. His greatness cannot be understood by the human mind. HOLY IS HIS NAME! It should only be used for prayer and in speaking of Him to instruct. Never ever without thinking as "Oh my God" at common surprise and definitely not in anger or cursing!
Thy Kingdom come: We await with hope, the glorious promise that one day His Kingdom of Peace and Love will rule and injustice, illness, sorrow and pain will be no more.
Thy Will be done on earth, as It is in heaven: Three Persons, one God ... all in the Divine Will. All of heaven shares the Divine Will of God. We ask that all hearts on earth not only KNOW this Will, but SHARE it, wanting and accepting with love, all that God's Plan for us and our salvation entails, for that is His ultimate goal to receive us unto Himself to love us and we Him for all eternity. So to share in the Divine Will while on earth is like having a little piece of heaven here and gives great joy!
Give us this day our daily bread: We rely on Him for our EVERY need, we run to Him asking not only for our needs but as a little child would to a loving Father with the details of our lives. We share our joys and sorrows with Him; our every need and want, trusting that He knows best what to grant always with our salvation in mind.
And Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those that trespass against us: Here we ask Abba to treat US as WE treat OTHERS! Know well what you say here! If we want to receive mercy, we best SHOW mercy to others while we walk this valley of tears. Are we better than Jesus Who suffered much more than we can ever imagine yet still forgave HIS betrayers, torturers and murderers?
Lead us not into temptation: God certainly does not lead us into temptation .. but here, we're asking to be kept away from the near occasions of sin. To have the grace to avoid offending Him and hurting our souls.
But deliver us from evil: To be protected from the fiery darts of the evil one and his minions who know our weaknesses better than we do ourselves; ever watchful to jump at the first opportunity to keep us from prayer and adoration with worry, depression, anger, fighting and what ever else causes confusion, division and sorrow.

And here is how I often say it:
"Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy magnificent and holy Name! May Thy Kingdom come soon that all hearts may return to You. May Thy holy, perfect Divine Will be done on earth by every creature and created thing as it is in heaven! Please give us this day our daily bread ... we rely on You for all our spiritual and temporal needs. Please forgive us our trespasses, as by Your grace, we can forgive those who trespass against us. Give us too Abba, the grace and strength to avoid the near occasions of sin which offend You so greatly. Deliver and protect us from the evil one, his minions and all their fiery darts as they seek to steal us away from you in this valley of tears. Amen!"
(For Thine is the Kingdom and the Power and the Glory FOREVER and EVER!) - We have no words nor the intellect to fully understand or acknowledge how great God is, but we do know that He created everything and everything is subject to Him; there is no one or nothing more glorious and powerful anywhere.
So we begin and end with God's Goodness, Greatness and Love and in between is what He offers us if we but accept His great Love and Mercy!
In archery, the aim is to hit the target bullseye with the arrow. It's known as the mark. If one misses the bullseye/the mark, he 'sins'. So to miss the mark is to sin. The mark Christians shoot for is the Way, the Truth and the Life. This is Jesus. The path back home to the Father is paved with the Precious Blood of the Lamb. It's very clear to follow, if we truly seek the Truth and not let the world and its ways get in the way.
Jesus Himself taught us to pray! Let us realize what we pray for as the words leave our lips, hearts and minds .. let us not idly repeat them by rote. Let us pray with grateful affection to the One Who shed His Blood that we might have eternal life .. the One that made it easier to find the way home ... the One that gave us a clear Mark to aim for always!
By the grace of our loving God, may we never again miss the Mark!
AMEN: SO BE IT!

Eternal Father; may Your Spirit descend upon us and bestow the wisdom to recognize Your Divine Will in all things and the strength and grace to accept Your Perfect Will whether we understand or not. Help us too to trust You in all things and rely on You like little children for all our spiritual and temporal needs. Make us to become more like Jesus and be people of compassion, love and generosity and bound in unity of the Church by reconciliation and forgiveness ... to ourselves and one another; all one in the Body of Christ. Awaken Your Power oh Lord our God and COME QUICKLY to turn mens hearts back to You ... Lord God Almighty, save us from ourselves!!

12/14/2013 12:58
Gracious Father, please send Your Spirit to give us truth, wisdom, compassion and generosity to guide us and keep us on the right path as we near the goal of our Advent, our beloved Jesus. Let us see Your justice at the root of all our questions and trials, knowing all things work together for good for those that love You. Help us to have a heart like Yours that we may put aside all differences and with contrite resolution, forgive and reconcile our relationships with others no matter how long or deep they've cut us. Help us to always speak Your Truth regardless of what others may think of us knowing that to be silent or condone sin is to take that sin upon ourselves. But even more than this, give us the courage to speak the Truth in LOVE & with KINDNESS so that others may stop offending You and hurting their own salvation! Give us the courage to be bold like John that in our own compassion and humility, we may proclaim Your Love in our midst, always.

Jesus, you lifted up the sinners around You ... so many of them became saints. Let me soak up the grace of Your Divine Influence so that I will truly reflect in my actions the reality of Your work in my soul. Grant me a little portion of the burning desire You had to bring back the lost sheep. Please increase my Faith and love for you and my charity towards all others. Help me to know You better, love You more and trust and serve You always! Grant me the grace too Lord to love You for all those that do NOT love You and to love You even MORE for all those who DO!

03/24/12
"Generous and most loving Eternal Father, King of the universe ... all life, holiness and all good things come from You. May we receive these gifts with thoughtful, humble and grateful affection and share them with all those we find in need, leading them ever closer to the most Sacred Heart of Jesus. Please give us a generous heart, particularly during Lent, to remember those less fortunate than us and the example of the poor widow who gave all she had. Help us to always make Jesus present and manifest during this Lenten Season, our lives and throughout the whole world daily."

03/18/2012 14:21
"Beloved of my soul, only by Your grace do my prayers have any value, even then only when united to Your holy Cross.
Only by Your Passion does my suffering have any merit, only because You gave Your ALL for humanity to the last drop of Your Precious Blood.
Only by Your Strength do my labors produce any benefits ... this too only by uniting my every thought, word and deed in conjunction with Your Holy and Divine Will, will my work in the Vineyard be of any use to souls."

02.07.12
"Lord, thank You for my life and everything You have given me since the moment of my conception, especially for my life, my dear parents, my guardian angel, the gifts of Faith, Hope and Love, all those You've placed in my path and all that we're called to become for each other by Your grace. Help me to fully realize that You have created everything and that all I have is from You. May I use all I have to serve You and others for their good and to show them Your Love and Mercy. Let me walk, breath and live in Your Holy and Divine Will, as You bid me to come closer to You, most Beloved of my soul, the Source of all good and my eternal Joy."

12.18.11
"Most loving Merciful Father, grant that I might be joined to the Body of Your Beloved Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, that I might console Him in His Sufferings as He looks at this fallen world. Let me be the plaything of the Infant Who suffers even in the womb of the Virgin Mary and His companion as He's left alone in Tabernacles throughout the world. Grant Abba, that my understanding and awareness of the most Holy Sacrifice of the Altar, reach the pinnacle of human potential as I contemplate the Eternal King of all Ages, as my Eucharistic Lord. Please let me always accept His Holy, Perfect and Divine Will as a trusting child in all things. And as I lovingly gaze transfixed let me bring to others the peace, joy and comfort emanating from the tender smile of the Infant Who welcomes us not just at Christmastime, but always."

2.12.11
"Sweet Savior, Lord Jesus, have mercy on this miserable sinner who loves You!"

1.8.11
"Lord, I try often try hard to please You but my weakness and temptations make it difficult for me to clearly see the road that leads to You. I am SO nothing before You Lord, naked and pitiful as I am but so very confident in your Mercy and Love. You delight to renew my poor soul, filled with contrition, as often as I ask through the beautiful Gift of Confession. So Lord, take pity on this hopeful sinner before You, empty as I am and fill me with all good things that speak Your Endless Love and Tender Mercy that I might show others the Glory, Truth and Love that is You. Please give me the grace, health and mobility to do Your Perfect Will in all things with a humble, contrite and joyful heart. Please help me to love You more perfectly sweetest Jesus, and let me know You better, love You even more and trust and serve You always."

12.09.10
"Most Loving Father, we beg the gift of _____ for _____. By the power of the Holy Spirit, receive the grace to live the Truth in the Name of Jesus Christ." [insert request: Faith, temperance, fortitude, forgiveness, health, whatever ~for~ name of person being prayed for]

12.1.10
"Eternal Father, may Your Will be done on earth as it is in heaven! Please bless and protect our land, those we hold dear, those persecuted, especially those suffering for You in the Middle East and other non Christian nations. Comfort the afflicted and those that feel unloved and neglected, particularly the lonely and abandoned young and old ones. Abba, please give to the dying this day, a contrite heart and the grace to at least beg Your Mercy with their last conscious thought or dying breath. May all those who can't speak for themselves, particularly the unborn, have caregivers that love You and keep Your commandments, that Your Perfect Will be done in all things. May jobs and homes be found for those that are needy. May families grow in unity and love rather than distance and hatred. More than anything, please give us a heart and the grace to detach from the things that keep us from closer union with You so that we may strive to focus on You and heaven as we wait in joyful hope for You to return to make all things right. Sweetest and most Glorious Triune God, read our hearts and know that we adore you. Increase our Faith, show us how to love You more perfectly, know You better and trust and serve You always in all things. Keep us always in Your Perfect Will and protect us from the evil ones that seek to lead us to perdition. All good things come from You oh God Most High. We give You thanks for everything we have ever received since the moment of our conception; particularly our parents, family members, friends and those we hold dear along with all placed in our path along the way, for our precious Faith, life, love, hope and all that we can become for each other by Your grace."

11.1.10
"May the angels and saints in heaven, from whom we derive holy examples, bring us ever closer to the Sacred and Immaculate Hearts! May they intercede for us before the Throne of the Most High that we be granted the graces required to be the servants He desires! Please God that we remain faithful in adversity, continue to be strengthened and stay focused on the path that leads to heaven and our glorious Triune God!"

10.2.10
"Eternal God please grant me the grace of perseverance in this life to do Your Holy Will in all things with a humble, contrite and joyful heart. Sweet Savior, let me walk with You daily while Our most compassionate Blessed Mother holds my trembling hand, interceding to You on my behalf!"

Whenever I'd pass a cemetery (now where I don't get out much, I just say it anyway with my evening prayers mostly, sometimes with my daily 3pms too):
"May these and all the souls of the faithful departed rest in peace. Eternal Father, through Your Great Love and Tender Mercy that is everlasting to everlasting, please release even more souls from purgatory now as I beg You. If my dear parents and those I know and care for aren't already with You, please bring them into the light of Your Glorious Presence along with all those I ask for now and especially those that have no one to pray for them. Please give them all the peace, comfort, love, joy and mercy that can only come from You."

"Oh Mary conceived without sin, please pray for us who have recourse to thee and protect us in the mantle of your love till our Beloved Lord and Savior returns in power and with great Glory to rule forever and ever. Amen."

"My Jesus, help me to know You better, love you more and trust and serve You always. Please keep my motives always pure, never permit me to spread error and save me from pride, arrogance and anger."

"Eternal Father, I thank You for everything I have ever received from You since the moment of my conception; especially for my life, my dear parents, my guardian angel and the precious gifts of Faith, Hope and Love and all that we're called to become for one another. Please keep me always in Your perfect Will and on the road that leads to heaven and You."

Not sure where this came from but have embellished it a bit:
Lord Jesus, please place Your Words in my mouth that I may always proclaim Your Good News. Place Your song in my ears that my soul may dance. Place Your vision in my eyes that I may see Your Truth. Place Your thoughts in my mind that I may contemplate Your Face day and night while meditating on Your wonders. Put Your strength in my shoulders that I may bear my crosses and help my brethren. Place Your diligence in my hands that I may always work to build Your Kingdom and counsel my brothers. Place Your courage in my steps that I may walk through dark valleys and encourage all I encounter. Heighten my senses that I may long for the sweet bouquet of purity and taste and see the goodness of the Lord. Put Your love in my heart that I may magnify Your tenderness and compassion to all, even those that seem unlovable. Put Your hunger in me that I may long for the Bread of Life. Place Your thirst in me that I may drink deep Your cup of Eternal Salvation. Robe me in Your nakedness that I may imitate Your humility. Share with me the isolation and rejection that You faced, that I too may be a pilgrim longing for Your Temple. Help me to understand Your imprisonment that I may know Your freedom. Allow what You will in my illnesses that I may receive Your healing touch. Thank You for those who persecute, ridicule and despise me because of my love for You; may I return their evil with Your goodness. Share Your abandonment with me that You may be my all. Amen.
