Priest Unveils Catholic Healthcare Grants Given To Support Abortion

Fr. John Malloy Exposes the Ugly Truth About Catholic Healthcare West

One CHW Hospital Recently Was Stripped of Its Catholic Status by Bishop Thomas Olmsted

On January 6, 2011, Catholic Healthcare West awarded nearly $1.2 million in grants to various nonprofit organizations in Sacramento, Placer, Yolo and Nevada counties.
Fr. John Malloy with Pope John Paul II
Catholic Healthcare West has been in the news often lately for its undercutting of Church teaching on the issue of abortion. In December, Bishop Thomas Olmsted of Phoenix stripped one of its member hospitals, St. Joseph’s of Phoenix, of its Catholic designation. The Bishop’s action came in the wake of an abortion carried out at the hospital, followed by an attempted justification of the abortion by hospital staff.
CHW is represented in the Sacramento area by Mercy Hospitals. Among the organizations receiving “Community Grants” from CHW/Mercy was the Capitol Community Health Network. A CHW-Mercy press release describes the Capitol Community Health Network as:
“A member network of nonprofit community clinics and other health services organizations that provide a continuum of cost effective, culturally appropriate, high quality, primary health care services to all people regardless of ability to pay.”
The CCHN’s own webpage gives its background, in part:
“The Capitol Community Health Network (CCHN) started life in 1994, as the Sacramento Community Clinic Association. Initially, it was an advocacy organization for non-profit women’s healthcare clinics whose funding streams were threatened by the implementation of Geographic Managed Care in Sacramento County.”

Their Board Members include a Vice-President for Planned Parenthood
The CCHN consists of 12 member clinics, all of which are listed on its website. They include Planned Parenthood Mar Monte and Women’s Health Specialists. Members of the CCHN Board of Directors include Shauna Heckert, who is also the Executive Director of Women’s Health Specialists and Deborah Ortiz, the Vice-President of Planned Parenthood Monte Mar.
The services provided by Planned Parenthood are well known.

Those provided by the Women’s Health Specialists are described on their “services” page:
“We offer all methods of birth control for women including: The Pill, IUD, Depo Provera, Nuvaring, the Patch, Cervical Cap, Diaphragm, Vaginal Film and Condoms and Contraceptive Foam, and information on Fertility Awareness. We also provide referrals for permanent (male and female) sterilizations services.”
The services page also has a “Comprehensive Abortion” section:
“We provide early and later abortion to 18 weeks of pregnancy. If you are early in your pregnancy, you can choose Mifeprex, the “abortion pill”, surgical abortion or abortion with manual vacuum aspiration (MVA). If you are later in your pregnancy, contact us. We can help you get the abortion you need.”
The “Services” page also contains special sections for “Early Suction Abortions,” “Early Medical Abortions (RU-486)” and “Later Abortions.”

Like Planned Parenthood, Women’s Health Specialists are pro-abortion activists. They have a speakers bureau, and they describe its role:
“We provide education and workshops on a variety of women’s health issues including: Abortion, Menopause, Birth control, Gynecological Self Help, AIDS, History of the Women’s Health Movement, Women’s Sexuality, Health Care for Lesbians, Civil Rights Issues of Women’s Right to Choose, the Anti-Choice Movement and its effects on women reproductive rights.”

Catholic Healthcare West is one of the largest members of the Catholic Health Association. On March 11, 2010 the CHA issued their now famous letter to congress supporting the passage of President Obama’s healthcare bill. The letter completely undercut the position of the Church, which insists that a healthcare bill that does not defend the right to life must be opposed. The responses to the CHA’s letter, on the part of the Catholic bishops were voluminous. That of Bishop Thomas Tobin of Rhode Island addressed to Sr. Carol Keehan, Chief Executive of the CHA, is representative:

“Your enthusiastic support of the legislation, in contradiction to the position of the Bishops of the United States, provided an excuse for members of Congress, misled the public and cause serious scandal for many members of the Church…”
Indeed. While Sacramento’s good Bishop Jaime Soto attends the Walk for Life and encourages his pastors to bring their flocks, he gets knifed in his own backyard by a “Catholic” organization.

Patrick Madrid Asks: Why be Catholic (When you can be anything else)?

Father Corapi: Prepare To Do Battle This Coming Lent ......

.......So You Can More Fully Appreciate Christ’s Victory At Easter!

Another Lenten season will be upon us soon. Although Lent is a season of penance; it is a season of hope more than anything. For as surely as Easter Sunday follows Good Friday, so the hope of Lent gives way to the fulfillment of that hope which is the Resurrection.

It seems to be a law woven into creation that there must be sacrifice before there can be victory. There must be a dying to sin and self before there can be a rebirth in Christ. As we walk the path of Lent we should use this graced time to exercise discipline in the small things of life. There can be no victory in anything: sports, business, military, or life in general, without self-discipline.
Examples of this discipline are many. They can be first and foremost in the area of charity to others, and this begins at home. Perhaps there is someone in your life that rubs you the wrong way, your “hair shirt”. Deny the inclination to bicker and complain. Love the person whether you feel like it or not. Do some small act of kindness for them.
Pray the Rosary every day (or once a week, or 3 times a week, etc.) of Lent, AND/or the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. If you love chocolate, exercise discipline and don’t eat it through the days of Lent, offering your sacrifice to Jesus through Mary for the salvation of souls.
Assist at holy Mass perhaps one or more days during the week as a preparation for the great gift of the Paschal mystery which unfolds during Holy Week. Discipline yourself to be more recollected and reverent at the Eucharist, realizing that this is nothing less than the same sacrifice of Calvary offered in a sacramental manner.
The discipline of Lent always opens the door for the bright light of Easter. The pain of Good Friday is at once the joy and triumph of the holy Cross. No passion and death, no Victory. In Jesus we walk through the trials and frequent darkness of this life to the unending joy and light of heaven. It is the Cross that wins that victory we know as Easter.

May this Lent be a time of true hope for you, a time of self-discipline and spiritual battle that leads to great personal triumph in Jesus Christ at Easter.

Dying He destroyed our death, rising He restored our life, come, Lord Jesus, come in glory!

Contraception: Gateway To The Culture Of Death!

Abortion Will Not Stop Until Catholics Understand That Contraception Is Intrinsically Evil!

Most people are appalled by the continuous slaughter of innocent children through the horrible scourge of abortion.  Abortion is a manifestation of an anti-child, contraceptive mentality that has gripped most Americans.  Contraception is the gateway to the culture of death.
Should We Be Surprised By The Continuing
Devaluing Of Human Life?

The massive loss of innocent human life that took place on September 11 shocked the nation. This loss of innocent human life was tragic. Nevertheless, another tragedy with even greater consequences continues on a daily basis. More than 52,704,727 children have been murdered through abortion since January 22, 1973.

Should we be surprised at the seemingly endless accounts of murders, bombings and wars throughout the world that fill the media each day? If we can kill inside of the womb, what is  to keep us from killing outside of the womb?
There have been more babies killed by abortion since Roe v Wade than people killed in World War I, World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War and both Iraq wars combined. An average of 150 convicted murderers, proven guilty, are killed by the death penalty in Texas every year. 90,000 innocent babies are killed in Texas every year by abortion.

Since 1973 there have been over 50 million abortions in the U.S. alone.

Consider the estimated populations of some of our major U.S. cities: New York – 8,143,197; Los Angeles – 3,844,829; Chicago – 2,842,518; and Houston – 2,016,582. Are we not destroying our work force and the base for Social Security?

Is Anyone Listening To The Holy Father?

Very few are paying attention to what Pope Benedict XVI told the College of Cardinals in an end of the year speech with these dramatic words: “For all its new hopes and possibilities, our world is at the same time troubled by the sense that moral consensus is collapsing, consensus without which juridical and political structures cannot function. Consequently the forces mobilized for the defense of such structures seem doomed to failure” (December 20, 2010).

Abortion Is Only A Symptom, Not The Root The Problem!

As horrendous as abortion is, it is really only a symptom of a much greater problem. In their 2001 revision of the Pastoral Plan for Pro-Life Activities “A Campaign in Support of Life”, the United States Catholic Bishops speak of the connection between abortion and contraception when they write: “It is noteworthy that as acceptance and use of contraception have increased in our society, so have acceptance and use of abortion. Couples who unintentionally conceive a child while using contraception are far more likely to resort to abortion than others. Tragically, our society has fallen into a mentality that views children as a burden and invites many to consider abortion as a ‘backup’ to contraceptive failure. This is most obvious in efforts to promote as ‘emergency contraception’ drugs that really act as early abortifacients.”

As I wrote in my book “Man to Man: a Real Priest speaks to Real Men about Marriage, Sexuality and Family Life,” prior to 1930 every Christian denomination agreed in their opposition to contraception. Today, the Catholic Church stands alone. However, even though the Catholic Church affirms that contraception is intrinsically evil, the majority of Catholics in America completely rejects and ignores the Church’s teaching on procreation.

Why Does The Catholic Church Teach That Contraception Is Intrinsically Evil?

Why does the Catholic Church affirm that artificial birth control is intrinsically evil? The reason is founded on this principle: every marital act must keep together “the inseparable connection, established by God, which man on his own initiative may not break, between the unitive significance and the procreative significance which are both inherent to the marriage act” (Pope Paul VI, Humanae Vitae, 12).

This fundamental principle contained in Humanae Vitae is true because the nature of sexual intercourse, which is both life-giving (pro-creative) and love-giving (unitive), reflects the plan of God for marriage. A man and a woman must not intervene to separate their fertility from their bodily union. To do so is to disrupt the plan of God for marriage, sexuality and married love. Therefore, the Church’s teaching is not only affirmed by Divine law, but by natural law as well.

Sexual pleasure within marriage becomes unnatural, and even harmful to the spouses, when it is used in a way that deliberately excludes the basic purpose of sex, which is procreation. God’s gift of sex must not be abused by frustrating its natural end—procreation.

However, this does not mean that married couples only have sexual intercourse when they want to conceive a child. Mutual love or the good of the spouses, one of the three purposes of marriage, indicates that sex is good, sex is holy and that the sexual union between the spouses enhances, in a very deep way, the intimate love between husband and wife. Nevertheless, we must keep in mind that the three purposes of marriage: the good of the spouses, the procreation of children and the education of children, are equal and form one single entity. The first purpose of marriage is not superior to the other two.

What Is The Morally Acceptable Way To Regulate Births?

The Catholic Church continues to affirm that every conjugal act must be open to the transmission of life. The Catholic Church continues to affirm that all forms of contraception are intrinsically evil. However, the Catholic Church does teach that there is a moral or ethical way to regulate births. The moral way to regulate the procreation of children is through the use of Natural Family Planning.

Humanae Vitae explains this clearly with these words: “If therefore there are well-grounded reasons for spacing births, arising from the physical or psychological condition of husband or wife, or from external circumstances, the Church teaches that married people may then take advantage of the natural cycles immanent in the reproductive system and engage in marital intercourse only during those times that are infertile, thus controlling birth in a way which does not in the least offend the moral principles which we have just explained” (Pope Paul VI, Humanae Vitae, 16).

Why Is The World Sexually Out Of Control?

We all know that the world is sexually out of control. The wide acceptance and use of contraception have caused the present day chaos. Pope Paul VI said that it would happen when he wrote, “Let them first consider how easily this course of action could open wide the way for marital infidelity and a general lowering of moral standards. Not much experience is needed to be fully aware of human weakness and to understand that human beings—and especially the young, who are so exposed to temptation—need incentives to keep the moral law, and it is an evil thing to make it easy for them to break that law. Another effect that gives cause for alarm is that a man who grows accustomed to the use of contraceptive methods may forget the reverence due to a woman, and, disregarding her physical and emotional equilibrium, reduce her to being a mere instrument for the satisfaction of his own desires, no longer considering her as his partner whom he should surround with care and affection” (Pope Paul VI, Humanae Vitae, 17).

Abortion in America could end tomorrow if the Catholic Church in America were to take a militant and united stand against abortion. But, it can only take a militant and firm stand in favor of the unborn, if the Church were to affirm in practice, and not only in words, that contraception is intrinsically evil.

This was written by Father James Farfaglia please pray for him, he's going to need strength and protection!

How To Know When Jesus Speaks?

My Dear People,

If God is all powerful, omnipotent, and all knowing, why would He seek us? Yet that is what Jesus did as He began His mission here on Earth. Our Lord did not seek out the brightest and best.  He sought those whose hearts were open and ready. All of the Holy Apostles had sinned and were broken. None were perfect. But Jesus chose to use their imperfections to glorify His Father in heaven.

As Jesus walked along the Sea of Galilee, he called to Peter and Andrew. They were brothers who owned their own business. Matthew tells us that they immediately left their boat, and their father to follow Him. What could Jesus have said or done that would cause them to make such a radical change? We do not now for sure, but we do know that they did not hesitate to respond.

Jesus calls each of us by name at Baptism, just as He will when we die. Like the Holy Apostles we are weak and sinful. But will we hesitate when He calls?

What must we do to softened our hearts that we may hear Him calling us?
Pray to the Holy Spirit to know when Jesus speaks.
He promised to teach us all things, until the Second Coming.
Trust in your gifts and use them to glorify Our Lord.

Entrusting you to the care of Our Lady,
Fr. Mark Bozada

May we always be ready to hear and serve the Lord as His Faithful Stewards.

Why Religion? Which did Jesus Teach?

MANY people believe in God, but say they want nothing to do with religion. "It creates division, war, and scandal," they object. So, if I have a relationship with God, and I pray, do I need religion? In this episode, Mark looks at where religions have come from and why, in particular, we have the Catholic religion. Do we need religion after all?

When Cutting out a Cancerous Tumor, you better get the ROOT

I grew up in the 50's. Oh yeah .. .there were still secrets then, but not as much and not as pronounced and definitely not as blatant. To hear of divorce gave the average person pause. It was not taken lightly. Neither were any of the sexual deviations of the time which were kept tightly under wraps from the shame they rightly deserved. However today, satan has most of us SO caught up in pleasure, demands, calling lies truth and truth lies and accepting any abnormality that rears its ugly head so that NO ONE IS OFFENDED, that we have become victims of our own complacency by the relativism we so willingly acquiesced.

I have said it for some time now ... the sexual union between a MARRIED MAN AND WOMAN is a beautiful GIFT of sanctity and NOT a recreational activity to be PLAYED with like minded INDIVIDUALS! But we want what makes us feel good NOW and we don't care that it lasts only a few moments ... we're willing to suffer ETERNALLY to get those few moments ... HOW UTTERLY INSANE IS THAT?????????????

Bottom line is that our deviant lifestyles and recreational sex lives have led us to believe that it's OK to use any contraceptive available to avoid CREATING LIFE so that we can have OUR FUN. And if a life is created by a MISHAP of contraceptive FAILURE, well, no problem ... we'll JUST MURDER THE BABY. Murder sounds too nasty so many like to call it TERMINATING THE PREGNANCY or aborting the fetus tissue. They say it's not a human life? So what does this TISSUE turn into if left to mature? A GIRAFFE??? It's a B-A-B-Y! NOT a blob of TISSUE ... NOT a cell that turns INTO an EMBRYO ... A BABY FROM THE MOMENT OF CONCEPTION ... A BABY, A CHILD ... A HUMAN LIFE!!!!!!!!!

We are murdering our children so that we can screw around with whomever we choose to get those few moments of 'bliss'. And even so .. HOW MANY ARE FAKING EVEN "THAT"???
Yet, we STILL KILL THE CHILDREN! How is this any different than offering human sacrifice to the volcano gods? Just a different package, but makes satan just as happy.

So ... if we want to stop abortion, we must cut this cancer out at the root ~ and the root is our deviant lifestyles that say that contraception is fine and when it fails well just abort.

Stop the abortions?
Stop the contraception!
Stop the contraception?
USE SEX AS IT WAS INTENDED: as a sacramental gift between married couples collaborating with God Himself to create NEW LIFE!

Cardinal Raymond Burke – Check This Out

Watch a Tell All Interview with Cardinal Raymond Burke

Go ahead treat yourself and listen or read it below.
An Interview with Cardinal Raymond L. Burke during his visit to St. Louis to celebrate the occasion of his elevation to the Sacred College of Cardinals. Cardinal Burke also was present for the Ordination Mass of the new Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of St. Louis, Bishop Edward Rice. The interview was conducted by Jennifer Brinker, a reporter for the St. Louis, Review.
Now that several months have passed since you were elevated to the College of Cardinals, have you had time to reflect on that moment? And have you thought to yourself: How did this happen, and how did I get here?
I have, in fact. In particular, having the celebration of a Mass of Thanksgiving, both in the Diocese of La Crosse and also now in the Archdiocese of St. Louis, has given me even more occasion to reflect upon the reality of the new responsibility which has been given to me. When I think about it, it is not something I ever would have imagined when I began my studies for the priesthood or even in my years of service as a priest and bishop. I simply thank God for the privilege to serve our Holy Father in this way. And at the same time, I am calling upon the help of God, because I realize my own limitations in providing for the Holy Father whatever he may ask of me.
How, if at all, has becoming a cardinal changed your priesthood?
My priesthood has taken on a new consciousness. Now there is the need to be even more attentive to the Magisterium of the Holy Father and to try to assist him in carrying out his work as he is inspired to do it. I’m conscious of the need to pay a closer attention to the words of our Holy Father and to his manner of carrying out his service of the Universal Church, and to try to assist him in any way that I can — clearly, through my regular duties as prefect of the Supreme Tribunal of the Apostolic Signatura and as a member of a number of his congregations and councils, but also in my everyday service as a priest and bishop.
Tell me about your position as prefect of the Supreme Tribunal of the Apostolic Signatura. Could you provide our readers with a glimpse of the work that you do?
What the Supreme Tribunal does is to help the Holy Father in his responsibility to secure justice in the Church. To take care that justice is done, which it is the minimum but essential work of the Church, in order that She carry out her highest service, which is charity. But where there is not justice, there cannot be charity. So we often say in the Apostolic Signatura that we carry out a very humble, but essential service.
What do we do? We have the oversight of all of the Church tribunals throughout the world, and we respond to all the diverse kind of requests and questions that come from the tribunals themselves, or from the faithful who have had some experience with the tribunals, either asking us to discipline a situation or to assist them in some way, so that the tribunal can assist the faithful. Each tribunal submits an annual report on its status and activities, which is given careful study. After the study of the report, we may ask for some further information or request copies of decisions of the tribunal, in order to understand better how it is operating and to assist it. This first area is a big area of responsibility. There are over 1,000 ecclesiastical tribunals throughout the world. There is a great deal of work here, and we could always do more.
Secondly, we handle what are called administrative cases, namely recourses against an individual administrative act of someone in authority in the Church, usually a bishop or a religious superior. The faithful may be upset, for instance, about the suppression of a parish … or a religious about his or her dismissal from the religious life, or a priest about his transfer or his removal from office. If they believe that the act was not carried out according to the Church’s law, they may make recourse to the Holy See. Those are very laborious cases. They come to us after they have already been appealed to one of the Roman congregations or councils. If either party, either the superior or the person making the recourse, is not happy with the decision given at the Roman congregation or council, he can then appeal to us for a final decision. We handle it in a judicial way, with arguments from advocates for both parties, with the intervention, as often as necessary, of the promoter of justice of the Supreme Tribunal. Then the final decision is rendered by the judges who are all cardinals, or archbishops or bishops of the Church.
These are very difficult cases in which there is usually a great deal of unhappiness. The only comfort that we take is that we are able to give a definitive decision in the name of the Holy Father. This brings peace to people in the sense that they know now that their contention has been judged at the highest possible level. They have received a decision, and even if they don’t like it, at least they know that they have been heard, at the highest level, by those who act for the Holy Father.
The third area that we deal with is very limited and that is the cases against the Roman Rota, which is the Pope’s ordinary tribunal for judicial cases, mostly cases of marriage nullity.
During the events of the consistory, I remember you saying that “I discovered in canon law a great richness that has to do with the whole life of the Church. In many ways, it’s a very humble discipline … but it’s at the service of every aspect of the Church’s life.” Can you elaborate on that?
Canon law, the discipline of the Church, which is codified in the canons of the Code of Canon Law, is what guarantees the effective exercise of the Church’s mission, whether it’s teaching, whether it’s sanctifying, or whether it’s governing the people of God. And so when you study canon law, you end up studying all of the various aspects of the Church’s life. Her organic nature, the different vocations, the different states in life, the different services given by various members of the Church … In that way, you come to appreciate very much the richness of the life of the Church. As I say, it’s humble. We don’t have the joy in canon law of actually carrying out these services, but we have the deep joy of knowing what we’re doing is safeguarding relationships and situations in the Church so that the Church’s mission can be carried out.
What is life like serving in ministry for the Universal Church? I ask this because many Catholics have not had the privilege of seeing firsthand how the Roman Curia works. How does that work hand in hand with the life of the average Catholic in the pew?
What I experience, and what anyone working in the Roman Curia experiences, is the direct service of Catholics, individual Catholics in the pew, but now coming from every corner of the world. One experiences a whole diversity of situations in the Church, and what you learn and come to know, serving in the Roman Curia, is the wideness of the Church, Her Catholic nature embracing the whole world, embracing people of every language and race and nation. And that is, at one and the same time, a source of wonder and also a … cause for humility.
In summary, what does the Church teach on the subject of free will?
God made us in His own image and likeness. And that means that He made us to both know the truth and to live the truth in love. With our mind we come to know the truth; with our will, we love the truth and live the truth. Free will for us is never a question of license, namely doing whatever I please, because that really doesn’t make us free. And all of us have had the experience when we’ve just done what we please. Indeed, we don’t enjoy freedom. In fact, we become enslaved to one or another creature, or enslaved to a habit of sin.
Free will is developed in us through a discipline of our thoughts and our affections, and our words and our actions, so that they more and more are conformed to the mind and heart of Jesus Christ. And as we attain that conformity with the mind and heart of Jesus Christ, we experience a great freedom. We discover that freedom is not meant for my selfish enjoyment, but that true freedom is for the good of my brothers and sisters and the good of those who are around me. We discover that our greatest joy comes from being selfless and being generous and sacrificing ourselves, even when it hurts us very much, in order to love.
Even though God has a plan for every one of us, why is it that He gives us free will to make decisions in our earthly life? Why doesn’t He just say He has a predestined plan for us and make us act according to that?
If that would be the case, we would no longer be made in His own image and likeness. We would be a kind of determined creature who is simply carrying out a program. Yes, He has a plan. The plan is our own perfection, what is for our greatest good. And we are confident that, if we pray to know God’s will and use all of the appropriate means to discover His will in our life, we will do it. But we will do it through our own knowledge, with the help of God’s grace of course, and our choice. We give ourselves. We are not determined to do something, but it is our free gift. That’s the way our Lord wants it, because we’re made to have communion with Him. And communion with Him means we share in His own gifts of truth and love.
Would you say that a properly formed conscience is the meeting point between God’s will for us and our freedom to choose to live according to His plan? What sort of instruction must one go through to have a properly formed conscience?
We start with reason itself and what it can uncover for us with regard to God’s plan for us in our world. And fundamentally what we discover is the Ten Commandments. The respect for the inviolability of human life, the respect for the integrity for marriage and of the family. And ultimately the respect for God Himself as the origin of all being, and moreover the Savior, after the rebellion of our first parents. And so God … has written into our hearts the knowledge of His law, a disposition to grow in the knowledge of His law, which is called conscience. Conscience is a meeting place between God and ourselves, and is formed through reason first. Then, Divine Revelation, as it is handed down to us in the teaching of the Church, brings us to an ever deeper understanding of the truth. … It also uncovers for us particular aspects of our relationship with God and one another that we would not be able to discover by reason alone.
What about a person who has an ill-formed conscience? I think of the case in which an Arizona hospital recently lost its Catholic status after allowing an intentional abortion. What, then, happens to the matter of free will if a person has not been properly formed in conscience or deliberately chooses to go against God’s design for us?
We simply become subjects to either what is popular or what the majority wants or is advocating, or of some fad or … of a confusion and an error, for instance, with regard to abortion. Once we abandon the truth that it is always and everywhere wrong to take the life of an innocent and defenseless human being, then we are following a voice which is not the truth, and we are leading ourselves down a path which is ultimately deadly. What is produced in a society by this kind of conduct, by a lack of respect for a properly formed conscience, is a culture of death. We find increasing violence, we find the taking of the lives of the innocent and defenseless unborn, then the attack … on those who are bearing a heavy burden of weakness because of age or serious disease or some special needs.
What are your thoughts on those who are held against their will and unable to freely make a choice? There are women who every day are coerced into having an abortion, either by the child’s father, or the mother’s parents, for example.
It’s a difficult choice, but we cannot ever say that the end justifies the means. There can be all kinds of situations, especially during times of war, and other situations where people are obliged to endure imprisonment, or even death itself in order to follow their conscience. For instance … St. John Fisher refused to acknowledge the supremacy of King Henry VIII over the Catholic Church; which would have been for him to deny that the Pope is the Vicar of Christ on earth. And he remained free in upholding the teaching of the Church, but it cost him his life. But his freedom was too important to him to give it up in order to save his life. The same way with St. Thomas More.
Do you think individuals take for granted this awesome responsibility and gift of free will? What kind of advice would you give to someone to help that person to remember that God gives us free will, but yet also keep in mind His will for us?
I do think that there’s a tendency in society today, especially through a lack of a deep education of the children and young people, and also from a lack of study and reflection on the part of us who are adults … to lose sight of the central reality of free will and of conscience in our lives. And that’s how we end up with so many tragic situations in the world. … I would urge, especially in the home, that parents devote themselves to forming the conscience of their children, even as they seek to keep their own consciences well informed through the study of the Catholic faith — especially through participation in Sunday Mass and the other means that are given to deepen the Catholic faith. … Our institutions of Catholic education should be very much directed to helping the students to develop a well-formed conscience.

Land Of The Free And Home Of The Brave? ...

Or Land Of The Enslaved And Home Of The Deceived?
“Allow us to murder children”  America says.
"Just don’t make us look at it."
Father Dwight Longenecker- What is emerging in the horrible case of abortion monster Kermit Gosnell in Philadelphia is how much the authorities covered up his crimes by looking the other way. The scale of the incompetence and admission that they did not regulate the abortion clinic for ‘political reasons’ is now emerging. It seems Gosnell was only caught because ordinary police turned up to investigate him on drugs charges and noticed the appalling conditions in the abortuary. Read about the bureaucratic crimes here.

Now the nation has to realize just how horrific the whole abortion industry is, and that it is not just the crimes of the greedy and gruesome Gosnell, but of every person who condones this horrible crime in any way. Gosnell had severed baby limbs kept in jars, killed newborn babies by putting a scissors in their neck and cutting their little spinal cord. He preyed on vulnerable, poor, minority and under aged women. At least one died at his hands. The only difference between this and the typical abortion is that the murder and dismemberment takes place in the mother’s womb and the dismembered child is sucked out by vacuum pump. If this went on in Philadelphia what other horrible practices continue uninvestigated for ‘political reasons’?

Stop! Americans need to look at it, just like the Germans were forced to walk through the concentration camps, and what a cruel irony that all of this happens the week of the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, and the week of Martin Luther King Day, and that the abortionist was an African American preying largely on the poor and vulnerable African American population. “I had a dream…in the land of the free and the home of the brave”

Some dream. Some Freedom. Some Bravery.
Every American should be ashamed.

How much longer O’ Lord will you allow this evil to flourish in our land and in our world?

What a Long Strange Trip It's Been!

Praise God that things are looking up for the Faith and that real UNITY may at last be on the horizon at least among Rome, possibly the sedevacantists and those that fell away after Vatican II was misconstrued. It just amazes me that we were actually kept in the dark for SO LONG thinking that Vatican II really instituted the changes that made so many turn their backs (not that that was RIGHT of course) and leave the Church and confused the rest of us (literally) all to hell and back! Pray hard for this folks .. that things be restored because it will increase Faith in so MANY and the timing couldn't be better. We so very much need to get serious about the Faith again and I believe that the Holy Father knows much better than we can even guess about the timing of events and the changes that are soon to engulf us. God always gives us a way to safety, praise His Holy Name!

Time Spent ... *AHEM*

I have said for a while now that we unfortunately spend more time with our hobbies and planning events/vacations than we do with our FAITH. We say we LOVE GOD, but many of us rarely give Him the time we devote to other activities that we LIKE. Very sad. Time for fence sitting is soon coming to an end ... time to really think about WHERE you want to spend eternity and with WHOM.

And some thoughts along the same lines from Father Bozada:
Are Catholics Giving Scandal Unto The Lord?
Will God Judge Us Accordingly?
My Dear People,

Isaiah, a major prophet of the Old testament, focuses on the servant role of Israel in our readings this week. The Lord has formed me as a servant from the womb, Isaiah states. Israel is to be a light to the nations, glorious in God’s sight. Is this how the world views Israel today? Is she a pillar of goodness and light? Does she draw all nations unto the Lord? While in Jerusalem a few years ago, I had the opportunity to speak with an orthodox Jewish rabbi at the Wailing Wall. He made the distinction between “cultural Jew” and “observant Jews”. Over 90% of Israel was non-observant, meaning Jewish in name only. Very, very few Israeli Jews practice any religion at all. This rabbi went on to say that his nation was a “scandal” unto the Lord, and that God would judge them accordingly.

It made me think about the Catholic Church. Are we the same? Cultural non-practicing Catholics, few faithful and obedient unto the Lord are we? Are we not a scandal unto the Lord? Our divorce rate, abortion rate, pro-homosexual view, and church attendance is not much like our pagan brothers.
Is God going to judge us accordingly as well?

Entrusting you to the care of Our Lady,
Fr. Mark Bozada
May we always be grateful for the fullness of our Roman Catholic faith.

More Animal Deaths .. Progressive as I've feared - Now COWS

When it comes to mass animal death in 2011, birds do it, fish do it, and now even cows do it. For a number of Christian theologians, it's enough to suggest the end of days is near.
The latest in a bizarre series of animal deaths occurred on January 14. The Wisconsin Rapids Tribune reported that the Portage County Sheriff's Department dispatched police to the town of Stockton after a cattle owner discovered "numerous dead cows" in a field.

GettyThe owner, whose name has been withheld by authorities, told deputies that he suspected the animals died of IBR (infectious bovine rhinotracheitis), a respiratory condition, or BVD (bovine virus diarrhea), an illness that can damage a cow's digestive and immune systems, lead to pneumonia and kill unborn calves. Authorities have sent samples from the cow corpses to Madison to determine the exact cause of death.

Regardless of the outcome of those necropsies, plenty of people find the herd's mysterious death somewhat apocalyptic, especially in the wake of events that claimed the lives of thousands of birds and fish in Arkansas, and hundreds of birds in Sweden, Louisiana and Kentucky.

Some Christians, including online theologian Paul Begley in Indiana, believe the animal deaths were divined from above as a sign the end of days is approaching.

The death of cows, birds and fish in particular seems to follow the prophecy set out by the Bible in the Book of Hosea, and are said to result when man turns his back on God. "By swearing, and lying, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery, they break out, and blood toucheth blood," the prophecy goes. "Therefore shall the land mourn, and every one that dwelleth therein shall languish, with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven; yea, the fishes of the sea also shall be taken away."

"There's something biblically going on with the signs of the second coming of Christ," Begley says on his YouTube channel. (This channel is NOT Catholic friendly.)

His message could creep out believers and non-believers alike. But don't expect the second coming any time soon. He adds that "we still need seven years of tribulation" and "the rise of the anti-Christ" for that to happen. (via the New York Daily News.)

Main Objective: LEAD SOULS TO HEAVEN

I  think by now we've all heard the adage that when you're up to your behind in alligators, it's hard to remember that the initial objective was to drain the swamp. Apparently this holds true for many of today's clergy, particularly here in the USA. It seems that popularity, position, complacency, relativism and many other EARTHLY *things* are preventing the FULLNESS OF TRUTH from being taught in all areas of teaching now from CCD to RCIA and everything in between. It's practically the NORM for priests to tell married couples that if they've prayed about it, they can do what "their conscience" dictates regarding contraception, et al. What they fail to mention is that in order to PROPERLY follow the dictates of one's conscience ... one's conscience must be RIGHTFULLY FORMED to begin with, which is NOT the case of most today, particularly those under 50 as Michael says .. please pass along this video to friends and family and remember ... we are ALL CALLED to promote the Faith .. and we are charged to do it CORRECTLY in TRUTH ... the WHOLE TRUTH and nothing BUT the TRUTH (sound familiar?) ... so HELP US GOD!!

Join THOUSANDS in 54 Day Novena beginning JAN 23rd 2011

Please exercise discernment as with all private revelations particularly those not yet approved by Holy Mother Church. With that in mind, please consider joining THOUSANDS in this most important 54 day novena begging January 23, 2011. We need to beg grace for the soon coming transition:
"It should be understood, therefore, that Our Lady’s importance in coming is not realized by most, even in the lives of Medjugorje followers. As difficult as life is here, as Mirjana stated in the apparition today to Our Lady, referring to “our sufferings and crosses,” our life is going to undergo a radical change compared to the present culture. Life is about to be transformed to put people on the path of God’s family, a path of peace, yet it will be extremely difficult for those upon the earth. It will be a very difficult transition. Many will have woeful, bitter regrets and great remorse for what they could have done in the time of grace, but did not. Life, as we know it, will change in a blink of an eye. Nothing will be the same upon the earth. Everything will be different."

Instructions for 54-Day Rosary Novena
This Novena -- actually one cycle of three 9-Day Novenas followed by another cycle of three 9-Day Novenas -- (3 Novenas)X(9 days each)=27 days; (27 days)X(2 cycles)=54 days -- is said to be especially efficacious. It has its origins in a private relevation granted in 1884 to the family of Fortuna Agrelli, a girl who was so seriously ill that her doctors had given up on her. She and her family began praying the Rosary, and saw a vision of Our Lady, sitting on a throne and holding the Christ Child, with a Rosary in her hands, and accompanied by SS Dominic and Catherine of Siena. Fortuna addressed Our Lady: "Queen of the Holy Rosary, be gracious to me, restore me to health! I have already prayed to Thee in a novena, O Mary, but have not yet experienced Thy aid. I am so anxious to be cured!"
Our Lady is said to have replied: "Child, you have invoked me by various titles and have always obtained favors from me. Now, since you have called Me by that title so pleasing to me, ‘Queen of the Holy Rosary’, I can no longer refuse the favor you petition; for this name is most precious and dear to me. Make three novenas, and you shall obtain all."
The Queen of the Holy Rosary is said to have appeared again, saying: "Whoever desires to obtain favors from me should make three novenas of the prayers of the Rosary, and three novenas in thanksgiving."
Pray the Rosary (5 decades) once a day for 27 days in the spirit of petition, with your intentions in mind.
Then pray the Rosary (5 decades) once a day for 27 days in the spirit of thanksgiving -- whether you believe your petitions have been granted or not.
Start the entire cycle with the Joyful Mysteries first, the Sorrowful Mysteries second, and ending with the Glorious Mysteries.

Father Corapi: In The Coming Years…

Many Saints Will Be Forged In The Crucible!

As we have entered a new era in politics and perhaps society in general, keep something in mind: WE WIN! No matter what political party is in power at a given point in time, in the end those that remain faithful to Jesus Christ win the war. We may have to fight many battles outnumbered and even despised and looked upon as criminals and outcasts by a society that is unraveling and degenerating into something no one could have imagined.
What matters is that we run the race to the finish line and fight the good fight. Don’t “go with the flow,” for as the great Archbishop Fulton Sheen reminds us, “Dead bodies float downstream.”  More than ever we shall have to be strong in the faith. Regular and worthy reception of the sacraments, constant prayer, and rigorous study of the faith is now essential, not merely a luxury.
The front line and primary battle is going to be the fight for life: The dignity of every human life from the moment of conception to the last moment of natural life. If we lose that one, every other battle space will be compromised. If the government succeeds in establishing abortion as an inalienable “right”, then the elderly and sick will be next. It will then be a short and slippery step to the government deciding who lives and dies regardless of their inherent human dignity.
If you don’t already pray the Rosary every day, please start at once. The prayer of the holy Rosary is the prayer of the holy gospel, and that means it is the prayer of the Good News Who is Jesus Christ, the LIFE of the world. Many saints will be forged in the crucible of the coming years. Make sure you are among them.

Pope Benedict XVI Will Beatify John Paul II On 1 May

VATICAN CITY, 14 JAN 2011 (VIS) - On 1 May, the second Sunday of Easter and Divine Mercy Sunday, Benedict XVI will preside at the rite of beatification for John Paul II in the Vatican.

According to a note released by the Congregation for the Causes of Saints, "today 24 January, Benedict XVI, during an audience granted to Cardinal Angelo Amato S.D.B., prefect of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints, authorised the dicastery to promulgate the decree of the miracle attributed to the intercession of Venerable Servant of God John Paul II (Karol Wojtyla). This concludes the process which precedes the rite of beatification.

"It is well known that, by pontifical dispensation, his cause began before the end of the five-year period which the current norms stipulate must pass following the death of a Servant of God. This provision was solicited by the great fame of sanctity which Pope John Paul II enjoyed during his life, in his death and after his death. In all other ways, the normal canonical dispositions concerning causes of beatification and canonisation were observed in full.

"Between June 2005 and April 2007 the principal diocesan investigation was held in Rome, accompanied by secondary investigations in various other dioceses, on his life, virtues, fame of sanctity and miracles. The juridical validity of these canonical processes was recognised by the Congregation for the Causes of Saints with a decree of 4 May 2007. In June 2009, having examined the relative 'Positio', nine of the dicastery's theological consultors expressed their positive judgement concerning the heroic nature of the virtues of the Servant of God. The following November, in keeping with the usual procedure, the 'Positio' was submitted for the judgement of the cardinals and bishops of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints, who gave their approval.

"On 19 December 2009, Benedict XVI authorised the promulgation of the decree on John Paul II's heroic virtues.
"With a view to the beatification of the Venerable Servant of God, the postulator of the cause invited the Congregation for the Causes of Saints to examine the recovery from Parkinson's disease of Sr. Marie Simon Pierre Normand, a religious of the 'Institut des Petites Soeurs des Maternites Catholiques'.

"As is customary, the voluminous acts of the regularly-instituted canonical investigation, along with detailed reports from medical and legal experts, were submitted for scientific examination by the medical consultors of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints on 21 October 2010. The experts of the congregation, having studied the depositions and the entire documentation with their customary scrupulousness, expressed their agreement concerning the scientifically inexplicable nature of the healing. On 14 December the theological consultors, having examined the conclusions reached by the medical experts, undertook a theological evaluation of the case and unanimously recognised the unicity, antecedence and choral nature of the invocation made to Servant of God John Paul II, whose intercession was effective in this prodigious healing.

"Finally, on 11 January 2011 the ordinary session of the cardinals and bishops of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints took place. They expressed their unanimous approval, believing the recovery of Sr. Marie Simon Pierre to be miraculous, having been achieved by God in a scientifically inexplicable manner following the intercession of the Supreme Pontiff John Paul II, trustingly invoked both by Sr. Simon herself and by many other faithful".

The Convertable Rosary

A unique concept for a full 59 bead rosary is to be able to convert it to either an auto rosary or a pocket decade and have enough left over for either a 22" necklace or a choker necklace and bracelet! Clasps will be lobster, spring or what have you according to stock, tempered by your preferences.
The ease of conversion rests in the clasps beginning and ending each decade and Pater sequence.
If you like diversity, practicality and beauty, you'll love the Convertable  rosary!

Father Corapi: Catholics Must Read Scripture In Light of Sacred Tradition And Magisterial Teaching

Through all the words of Sacred Scripture, God speaks only one single Word, his one Utterance in whom he expresses himself completely (CCC 102; cf. Heb 1:1-3). Jesus Christ, the eternal Word, is what every word found in Sacred Scripture is ultimately about.

God our loving Father has revealed himself to us, giving us the unimaginably generous gift of his Word. This Word is transmitted to us in the form of Sacred Tradition, Sacred Scripture, and magisterial teaching, no one of which can stand without the other two. May we be thankful for and ever-faithful to this gift.
God himself is the author of Sacred Scripture (CCC 105), and because of that the Word of God as transmitted to us in the Bible is to be accepted as inspired and true. We accept it, as we do the Doctrine of the Faith in general, not because it sounds plausible to us, but because of the One who has given it to us — God, who is Truth itself; the One who can neither deceive nor be deceived (VATICAN I, Dei Filius, 3, Denzinger Schinmetzer 3008).
God, the Author of Sacred Scripture, transmitted his Word to us by inspiring the human authors of Scripture (CCC 106; cf. VATICAN II, Dei Verbum 11). The Catechism asserts what Vatican II asserted, which is what the Church has always asserted: that Sacred Scripture teaches the truth. We are obliged to accept as true all that the Holy Spirit who is affirming this truth, thus, We must acknowledge that the books of Sacred Scripture firmly, faithfully, and without error teach that truth which God, for the sake of our salvation, wished to see confided to the Sacred Scriptures (CCC 107; cf. VATICAN II, Dei Verbum 11).
As is the case when trying to understand and properly construe anything transmitted by language–whether written or spoken–certain principles have to be followed. Through Sacred Scripture God in his great love for us speaks to us in a human way. Therefore, in order to interpret Scripture correctly the reader must be attentive to trying to understand what the human authors were really trying to say. It is the Church, our holy Mother and Teacher, who shows us how to do this. We are to pay attention to such things as the language, culture, modes of feeling and narrating current at the time of the human authors writing (Cf. CCC 109-110).

But, since Sacred Scripture is inspired, there is another and no less important principle of correct interpretation, without which Scripture would remain a dead letter. “Sacred Scripture must be read and interpreted in the light of the same Spirit by whom it was written” (CCC 111; cf. Dei Verbum 12). The greatest gifts of intellect, expertise in biblical languages, etc., although of great value, account for nothing ultimately if the person is not filled with the same Holy Spirit who inspired Sacred Scripture in the first place.
The acid test of whether or not a person in fact is operating in the Holy Spirit is humility. If one is humble one has the desire and the true freedom of will to obey legitimate Church authority. One who does not have this essential virtue of humility will ultimately rebel against the authentic and authoritative teaching of the Magisterium of the Church — the only legitimate interpreter ultimately of God’s Word, whether written or passed on in the oral form of Sacred Tradition.

from Fr. John Corapi

Be Afraid .. BE VERY AFRAID!!!

Thankfully this is NOT the norm in most parishes, however, it's SCARY that it happens at ALL in ANY parish!! I found this today at the Catholic Answers forum and I couldn't help but to share it here:
"Dear Apologists,

This Advent, our parish Priest took to bringing a (live!!) chicken into the Church every week - he called it the 'Christmas Chicken' and said that it represented 'the spirit of Christmas' (whatever that has to do with saying Mass I don't know!!). He insisted that each week in Advent during intercessions one prayer was directed NOT TO GOD but to the 'Christmas Chicken', which was allowed to wander freely around the altar during Mass, that we all feel 'wonderfully Christmassy happy' during Advent. I tried to address the matter with the Priest directly, but he simply implied I was being a spoilsport. Was I right to think that there was something amiss here? What further action should I take, if any?

I should say that I am new at my Parish, and don't necessarily feel terribly comfortable confronting the Priest directly.

Yours in Christ."

Now, the response by Fr. Serpa was of course to let the Bishop know and that the spirit of Christmas is the spirit of Christ's gift of Himself, not a Christmas chicken!
MY GOODNESS!!!
Is it even POSSIBLE that a priest could HONESTLY believe this is PERMISSIBLE, let alone blow off a parishioner that questioned it? Does satan have THAT much hold on even those fully professed now? It's clear from the news that we're being given truth for lies and visa versa, just as the bible said we would ... but sometimes, I can hardly believe the absurdity of what passes as CATHOLIC today *with* the blessing (ahem) of the priests and bishops. Well I shouldn't group all of them in there .. there are some VERY GOOD HOLY priests and religious out there -- THANK GOD!! But we all need to pray that the ones that are NOT receive the grace that's required to be the servants GOD DESIRES!!
HEAVEN HELP US ALL!

In keeping with the above thread, today's Vortex fits right in nicely ...

Gabrielle Giffords shooting: Frightening, twisted shrine in Arizona killer Jared Lee Loughner's yard

A sinister shrine reveals a chilling occult dimension in the mind of the deranged gunman accused of shooting a member of Congress and 19 others.
Hidden within a camouflage tent behind Jared Lee Loughner's home sits an alarming altar with a skull sitting atop a pot filled with shriveled oranges.
A row of ceremonial candles and a bag of potting soil lay nearby, photos reveal.
Experts on Sunday said the elements are featured in the ceremonies of a number of occult groups.
Investigators have focused on Loughner's online anti-government ramblings as the chief motivation for the shooting Saturday of U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.).
The discovery of the shrine raises the possibility that Loughner, 22, may have been driven by other forces. Students and faculty at Pima Community College, which he attended until his suspension last summer, said Loughner was clearly at odds with the world.
"He was one of the last kids tocome in, and he sat down and almost immediately started laughing to himself in a way that was just kind of creepy," a classmate, Alex Kotonias, 20, told USA Today.
"As soon as the teacher started going over the syllabus, he had this outburst out of nowhere, didn't even raise his hand, and started asking the teacher some sort of weird questions about whether he believed in mind control."
Inside Jared Lee Loughner's home (DAILY NEWS EXCLUSIVE).
Adjunct Prof. Ben McGahee, 28, worried about violence. "I remember going home and thinking to myself, 'Is he going to bring a weapon to class?'" he told USA Today.
Lynda Sorenson, 52, who was in McGahee's basic algebra class with Loughner, expressed similar fears in emails to friends, The Washington Post reports.
On June 14, she wrote: "We have a mentally unstable person in the class that scares the living crap out of me. He is one of those whose picture you see on the news, after he has come into class with an automatic weapon. Everyone interviewed would say, 'Yeah, he was in my math class and he was really weird.' I sit by the door with my purse handy."
In September, college officials sent campus police officers to Loughner's home, where he lives with his parents, with a letter informing him he could not return without a mental health professional's written assurance that hispresence at college would "notpresent a danger to himself or others."
"It was obvious to everyone that Jared wasn't a normal guy,"said neighbor Anthony Woods, 19.
Loughner worked as a volunteer at the Pima Animal Care Center, where he walked dogs and cleaned cages. "He loved animals and was a good worker," said another volunteer.
Loughner had once tried to join the military but was deemed unsuitable, officials said.

What We Know About Alleged Attempted Giffords Assassin Jared Lee Loughner

There's a partial portrait of Jared Lee Loughner -- the 22-year-old charged in the mass shooting Saturday which left Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ) fighting for her life and several others, including federal judge John Roll, Giffords staffer Gabe Zimmerman and and a 9-year-old girl, dead -- emerging from the suspect's online tracks, interviews with former friends and classmates and law enforcement sources.
Here's what we know so far: Loughner's classmates at his community college expressed worries about him, and he had at least five run ins with campus police which led to his suspension. Loughner dropped out of high school during his senior year. He was rejected from the Army, reportedly for failing a drug test. On YouTube and MySpace, he ranted against government "mind control" and illiteracy. We also know that Loughner's family were described as "loners" by neighbors.
In an interview with ABC News, Loughner's former classmate and friend Tong Shan described him as a "good person that just somehow changed so much."
In 2007, Shan and Loughner had a class together at Pima Community College, and would sometimes would spend time together outside of school. After the semester ended, they fell out of touch. When Shan next saw Loughner, in the summer of 2010, she says he acted like a completely different person.
"I don't know might have caused him to change, but from the way he was talking to me [online]... you can see. It was just questions and questions and random, weird questions that didn't go together," she said. "He would just trip out," she told ABC News. Shan described him as being 'anti-government' but said she never heard him talk about guns or violence.
Another student recalls Loughner's behavior at school as wildly inappropriate. According to the student, who took a poetry class with Loughner, Loughner made off-color statements after a girl read a poem about abortion, and mentioned terrorism.
A classmate of Loughner wrote in e-mails obtained by the Washington Post that he was a disturbed individual.
"We do have one student in the class who was disruptive today, I'm not certain yet if he was on drugs (as one person surmised) or disturbed. He scares me a bit," Lynda Sorenson, a 52-year-old wrote in an e-mail to friends on June 1. "Hopefully he will be out of class very soon, and not come back with an automatic weapon."
"We have a mentally unstable person in the class that scares the living crap out of me," Sorenson wrote in another e-mail on June 14. "He is one of those whose picture you see on the news, after he has come into class with an automatic weapon."

Loughner and his parents are loners who rarely spoke to their neighbors, those in the neighborhood told the Washington Post.

"You try to say something, they'd just ignore you and turn around and walk back into the house," Ron Johnson, a retiree who lives across the street from Loughner's home told the newspaper. "The kid - I never talked to him. He acted just like his parents and ignored you."
Steven Woods, another neighbor of the Loughner family, said he hadn't had an interaction with them in the seven years they lived near one another.
Poems written by Loughner, obtained by ABC News, give a glimpse into the mind of the young man. In one poem, called "Meat Head," Loughner describes making eye contact with attractive girls whom he believed were waiting for their boyfriends. "Confused look on my face of no idea what to do, deciding to copy other men's routines..." he writes. In another poem, he describes a full moon setting at a cemetery.
Pima Community College sent a letter to his parents on Oct. 7 telling them that if Loughner wished to return to the school, he would have to "obtain a mental health clearance indicating that, in the opinion of a mental health professional, his presence at the College does not present a danger to himself or others," the school said in a statement.
Loughner was suspended after college police discovered a YouTube video apparently created by Loughner in which he claimed the college was "illegal," and he dropped out, the school told ABC in a statement.
Loughner attended a "Congress In Your Corner" event in 2007 and received a letter from Giffords thanking him for attending, according to an affidavit by an FBI agent.
Fox News reported on a law enforcement memo which states that there is "no direct connection" between Loughner and the extremist American Renaissance group. But, the memo states, "strong suspicion is being directed at AmRen / American Renaissance. Suspect is possibly linked to this group. (through videos posted on his MySpace and YouTube account.). The group's ideology is anti-government, anti-immigration, anti-ZOG (Zionist Occupational Government), anti-Semitic."

Loughner, Politico points out, seems to have been influenced by David Wynn Miller, a conspiracy theorist who believes, as Loughner wrote in one of his videos, that "the government is implying mind control and brainwash on the people by controlling grammar."
But Mark Potok of the Southern Poverty Law Center writes that it's "hard to say" if Loughner is a right-wing extremist.
"When you look at the Internet material he purportedly produced, the first impression you get is that the 22-year-old now in custody for the shooting of 19 people in Tucson was completely out of his mind, or at least mildly deranged," Potok writes. "His writings will be virtually impossible for most people to understand, what with his references to unexplained numbers, his fondness for weird syllogisms, his unexplained references and his apparent semi-literacy."
"At this early stage, I think Loughner is probably best described as a mentally ill or unstable person who was influenced by the rhetoric and demonizing propaganda around him," Potok writes. "Ideology may not explain why he allegedly killed, but it could help explain how he selected his target."

I was just advised by a friend:
"By the way, you should also report far and wide that the federal judge killed, John Roll, was a CONSERVATIVE CATHOLIC George H.W. Bush appointee who was ruling against the Obama administration's federal power grab of Arizona's sovereignty. Only two days ago he ruled against their ridiculous anti-constitutional arguments, setting the stage for a complete reversal of their criminal behavior. It is true that he allowed a civil case brought by illegal aliens against a rancher to be certified but it's disingenuous for anyone to suggest he would have ruled in their favor. So when you hear idiots saying he was killed for being too pro-illegal aliens it holds no water. Gabby Giffords was a blue-dog Democrat on Obama's $%#t list. See a pattern here?"
Roll was described by his grief-stricken friend and colleague as "a conservative, values type Catholic who attended mass almost daily. When John and I first met, we discussed religion and culture at dinner. Just the two of us. I introduced him to Richard John Neuhaus's First Things, and he later subscribed."

Federal Judge: Liberal Sheriff, Media Exploiting Attack
By Jeffrey Lord on 1.10.11 @ 6:09AM
"He should be strung up."
The speaker: one very angry federal judge furious at the cynicism displayed by both Arizona Sheriff Clarence Dupnik and the mainstream media in the shootings that took the life of one federal judge, wounded Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, and killed or wounded 17 others.
The judge, a personal friend of the murdered federal judge John Roll, declined to be cited by name but was brimming with anger at what he termed the "cynicism and downright evil" of the liberal media's "cynical attempt" to blame conservative talk radio and television for the murder of the only public official not to survive the shootings -- the conservative Catholic Roll, an appointee of President George H.W. Bush.
The judge, who assigned blame for the shootings to "a lone nut," was bitter over Dupnik's much televised departure from his job as sheriff to relate the facts of the shooting and instead start "grabbing the limelight for publicity."
Said the furious judge: "And though terribly tragic though all of this is, how ironic that the one constitutional officer to die was a conservative, Republican-appointed federal judge. Will anyone point out the hypocrisy of liberal media on that one? Or is it a fact that is just too inconvenient?"
It's not inconvenient here.
Roll was described by his grief-stricken friend and colleague as "a conservative, values type Catholic who attended mass almost daily. When John and I first met, we discussed religion and culture at dinner. Just the two of us. I introduced him to Richard John Neuhaus's First Things, and he later subscribed."
The judge's fury comes as both Sheriff Dupnik and the liberal media are trying to blame everyone from the Tea Party to Sarah Palin to, in Dupnik's words, "the crap that comes out on radio and TV" for the murders. Meaning, of course, conservative talk radio and Fox News. While Arizona Democratic Congressman Raul Grijalva tries to say that Palin was responsible for the "political tone and tenor" that led to the rampage, the judge says that in fact federal judges receive threats all the time ranging from "disappointed litigants and prisoners" to "nuts." The judge believes the alleged Arizona killer, Jared Lee Loughner, repeatedly described by those who knew him as mentally unstable, was decidedly in the latter category and therefore the kind of person who poses a special threat to federal judges or any public official -- the "lone nut who doesn't make a specific threat."
The judge sees Dupnik, the man Politico identifies as "the liberal sheriff," disgracefully using his time in the tragedy's spotlight not to do his job but gain publicity by helping the liberal media exploit the killings by a "nut" to exploit a liberal political agenda -- gliding over the hard news fact that the only constitutional officer to die in the attack was a conservative Republican.
It was noted that during the controversy over the passage by Arizona of a bill enforcing federal immigration law, Dupnik sought out national media to essentially call the state's governor and legislature racists (here in the Wall Street Journal and here in the New York Daily News).
The judge's angry remarks mean one thing: it's time for plain talk.
LEFTIST POLITICAL philosophy -- whether at its Communist extremes or with its weakest American liberal strains -- is about one thing and one thing only: man's domination of other men. Control. And in the relentless drive to dominate, leftists have a brutal, well-on-the-record history of two things.
First, deliberately and willfully committing political violence in the name of a leftist cause.
Second, blaming that violence on others -- the "somebody else made me do it" defense. Or, if the violence was perpetrated by a non-political crazy -- a "lone nut" in the judge's words -- cynically ascribing this violence to the favorite leftist political target -- and yes, target is the word -- of the moment.

As far as the little 9yr old angel that was murdered:
The father of 9-year-old victim Christina made this courageous statement.
"We don't need any more restrictions put on our society."
Check it out, a TRUE patriot!

Cardinal George Pell – Politicians Who Claim a Catholic Identity

Cardinal George Pell of Sydney
Sydney, Australia,  (CNA)- As the country faces intense legislative debate this upcoming year over same-sex “marriage” and euthanasia, Cardinal George Pell of Sydney blasted politicians who claim a Catholic identity, yet consistently defy Church teachings on major issues.
In a Jan. 4 interview with the Sunday Herald Sun, Cardinal Pell gave a sharp rebuke to Australian members of parliament who “fly under the Christian or Captain Catholic flag” but “blithely disregard Christian perspectives” in their actions.
“If a person says, ‘Look, I’m not a Christian, I’ve a different set of perspectives,’ I disagree but I understand,” he said. “If a person says to me, ‘Look, I’m nominally a Christian but it sits lightly with me,’ I understand that.”
“But it’s incongruous for somebody to be a Captain Catholic one minute, saying they’re as good a Catholic as the Pope, then regularly voting against the established Christian traditions.”
Cardinal Pell called out politicians who endorse secular stances on issues while insisting that they’re Catholics, saying, “if you’re espousing something that’s not a Christian position, don’t claim Christian backing for that.
The Catholic Church “doesn’t teach the primacy of conscience,” he said, explaining that a person’s conscience doesn’t trump Church teaching. “You know if somebody said apartheid was all right, nobody would say, ‘Yes you can say that because of the primacy of conscience.’”
“To the extent that on a significant number of issues you depart from Christian teachings you know it’s incongruous to be billing yourself as a champion of Christian rights,” he said.
“I’m not telling people how to vote,” he underscored during the interview. “I’m telling people how I think they should vote. I’m an Australian citizen and I have as much right to do that as any other citizen.”

We need to keep Cardinal Pell and all others like him in our prayers and even send letters/emails of gratitude and encouragement ... they're going to need all they can get. May God keep them strong and safe!

UPDATE on Birds, Fish, Etc., Deaths

"When the world will become impoverished of the grace of the Holy Spirit, then the world

will be encircled by all types of calamities. Firstly the world will suffer from lack of love,
peace and moderation. Secondly, every country will suffer and there will be great loss of capital from every country. The Church of Christ will also suffer due to lack of priests
and spiritual shepherds.

After this calamity the unclean one will be born from the belly of filth and will bring forth signs and beasts with demonic fantasy, pretending to the world that he is meek and
humble at heart but he will be foxy at heart and a wolf at mind. His sustenance will be the
agitation of the people and when ever the people become agitated, he, the antichrist, will
be filled. The agitation of the people due to condemnation, envy, vindictiveness, hatred, enmity, greed, homosexuality, adultery, fornication, loss of faith arrogance, will be the food of the antichrist, who will be the head of many countries and have authority over all the world. He will have power over the feelings of people and all will believe him because he will be the dictator and emperor and he will bring spiritual loss to the people. Those that are on the way to perdition will believe that they are being saved.

Then the Gospel will be ignored because the spiritual loss will bring great unhappiness in
the world and signs and terrible events will occur. Man will hunger greatly and will not be
able to be filled, for then he will be eating seven times more than he eats now but he would
still not be satisfied and there will be great sorrows everywhere. Then, whoever was sealed
with the seal of the antichrist, many will die in the streets and the heart of most will
weaken, not being able to bear hunger and faintness, they will revert to eating the dead. Read more here from La Salette Journey Blog

UPDATE 4 – January 08, 2011
NEW MASS DEATHS REPORTED!

Attention! New REPORT: Not Just Birds and Fish but Now People Dropping Like Flies

Something strange is happening in the world. First they (the authorities) claimed it was the cold which was killing the birds and the fish but now it’s happening all around the world, in hot places too. So it’s not the cold which is killing these animals.
It’s not pollution either, such as poisoned water or something in the air because it would have been detected by now and besides it’s happening everywhere in the world. It’s simply not possible that the entire world would suddenly turn poisonous. So what’s really happening here? No one really knows yet but everyone is speculating and creating theories of their own.
Some have even ventured to fairy tale lands into explaining that the birds died because they were terrified by fireworks which were used on January 1st 2011, but what about the fish? And why hasn’t this happened in previous years because this year is definitely not the first year in which people use fireworks.
HAARP has also been named as a cause of these mysterious mass deaths, but HARRP is based in Alaska, and could it reach and affect the entire world?
The truth is that no one really knows what’s happening and everybody is speculating. This strange world event will definitely not be ignored by us.
This is definitely not normal, not a routine event and not something that happens everyday. Some of these events have happened a few months ago while most of these events are happening right now, but never the less the listed older events still might give some clues to what could be causing this strange world event.
This page will get updated regularly as more such mysterious deaths are expected to happen anytime so be sure to check back.
